First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information.

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related goals as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination

Dr. Sue will ask you various questions related to your health. Next, a state of the art technology will be used to perform a "nervous system" scan. This scan consists of a rolling thermal, which measures nerve activity going to the organs, blood vessels and glands; static EMG, which measures nerve activity going to the muscles; range of motion of the neck and the low back measured by a wireless inclinometer; and heart rate variability measured by a pulse wave profiler. Also a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-ray Studies

If your specific condition requires x-rays to either rule out a more serious condition or assist in developing the most effective treatment plan, you will be referred out to a local facility.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, practice members may be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, practice members are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Health Care options will also be discussed during this time.
